Who We Are

About Ebenezer

We're not trying to be a perfect church. We're trying to be a faithful one — a community of ordinary people gathered around Jesus in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Our Story

Rooted in Shattuck.

Ebenezer Baptist Church has been part of the Shattuck community since 1904. From the beginning, our desire has been simple: to be a place where people can hear the gospel, find a church family, and grow in their faith.

Over the years, God has been faithful. Families have been built here. People have come to faith here. Seasons of growth and seasons of difficulty have shaped us into the congregation we are today.

We are grateful for those who came before us and hopeful about what God is doing in and through Ebenezer in the years ahead.

Our Mission

We exist to help people know Jesus, belong to his family, grow in faith, and live for the good of our neighbors.

What We Believe

Our Core Beliefs.

These are the convictions that shape everything we do at Ebenezer. They are drawn from Scripture and shared by Christians throughout history.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — the final rule for faith and practice.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and is coming again.

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It cannot be earned — it is a gift received through repentance and trust in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, empowering them to live for God and grow in Christlikeness.

The Church

We believe the local church is God's primary means of building his kingdom — a community of believers committed to one another and to the mission of Jesus.

Baptism

We believe baptism is a Christ-commanded sign of the gospel for those who trust in Jesus, publicly identifying believers with His death and resurrection and confirming God’s promises of forgiveness, new life, and belonging.

Communion

We observe the Lord's Supper as a regular remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and a proclamation of his death until he returns.

Christian Life

We believe followers of Jesus are called to a life of love, holiness, service, and witness — shaped by Scripture and empowered by the Spirit.

Christ's Return

We believe Jesus will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to establish his eternal kingdom.
